Phlox rOx ?

Oh lala, while the team of Inworldz is having a hard time to adjust the new engine, I do have my part as well. I'm not gifted with a good brain (its to late for that :-), but I do my best ! I'v always been a non-starter, what works for other people (mostly PC wise) it want for me even if I do the same things. To give you an example, I went to get the new MLP animation set fixed for Phlox , because I made a nice gazebo with cuddle chair and wanted it to work again.
Disaster after disaster... could not make it started, even if I only had to click the menu and go.
It reproduced the pillows more then I wanted, also the balls came in quantity and it set me off in a weird position , walking away I had a ball between my legs wich was happy to stay :-)


My salvation is reading the Forum to keep up to date and problem solving...some others had problems too, oef this was to overcome !
At the IDI store was a Phlox copy available so I went to get it, came home and tried to make it work ! No luck, it even did not respond to my touching, tried for a good time and finally went to a sandbox to test it , there it worked like a charm ! ???? what was the problem at home ? Maybe bad performance at the Sim or the non script on the land, so I turned that one off , performance ok but still no movement on poseballs to appear or bleu popups to see, not even a hand showing, saying there is a script inside !
I was getting desperate by now, feeling very stupid :-) So I called for my Alt tester to see how it would work... and guess once... all worked perfectly !
Can it be she is smarter then me ?? LOL
After that I could also use the menu and it worked fine...but ... will it work again when I log in again today and use it ? This I will try and if not I will feel stupid again for another day, jealous too , if I read on the Forum : "Oh ! all works well now, I'm so happy , thanks"
I will try and try till it works , if not I definitely need a Guru to help me with this...

Building my world

I am still so occupied and busy building my own world that I had no courage to post news on this blog. For months I was looking with great 'gusto' to the SIM sales each month, looking and dreaming away, but the SIM name had to be good, cause didn't want to change the name ! And there it was, this was the SIM for me with the perfect name ! But I was also afraid, what to do with all that space :-) how to manage etc... well as I'm slow to develop/create things, this will take some time before I can come out of the closet :-) but as I am not so commercial and heading to get the most bucks out of it , I'll let it ripe like a good cheese, if it starts to stink .... lol, then it will be time to speed some things up.
All I can say it will not be like most SIMS but this will be a great enterprise for me and also a lot to learn with scripts etc... to realize what I have in mind :-)
When all falls into place I will let the Inworldz people know about it... so if they have interest they can come and visit !

When all is done, it will be a mix of residential and shopping... and also some dreaming in space :-)) so for now I'll keep it a secret and stay confined in my own land... I love it !!

Groupgift for May

Scripting and Phlox

I don't know much about scripting as I told before, just struggling with some scripts to set them as I want them to behave.
I do have a lot of SL scripts that never worked in IW, but with the new Phlox engine comming up most of them will work like a charm.
To test some of those, I will need them for my modern house and the domotica, I went to a Phlox sim to test... and hoera... all works well !

The doors with lock and list wich are actually of no use, lock or not, you always can get in a house if you know how to do that :-) also the windows tinting panel, some radio streams and maybe a securety script, but the last haven't seen one yet in IW, it is not so friendly to eject people from your land ! Just waiting for the place I'm living now to be rolling out the Phlox, but we have to be patient for all IW sims to run them. Tonight we Europeans (and also our overseas friends) will have a Phlox ROX party, if all goes well here in RL and I can escape, I like to go and party :-)
Shake the sim with as many avatars as possible, wearing a lot of prims, using scripts and dance for a while :-) and maybe crash the sim, after all it is a test , no ?

Building in the sky

I love to build and make houses, but lately I didn't anymore, since I had my homes made already :-)

After the Poll on the Forum I got the itch again :-)

I do love modern architecture and houses, the ones I will never have in Real Life but in Virtual Worlds everything is possible and you can dream/create whatever...
I'm still learning to make it all work including the domotica for it, but will need help soon with scripts and knowing to use a Rezzer.


This first big building project I made is also a great challenge as I'm not so clever with scripts etc...I don't have the brains for that, lol ! But in time, who knows, I can finish this work to a good end completed with modern furniture, not the common style for InWorldz where it is more Victorian - Steampunk and fantasy orientated... but in 'my sky' it is modern :-) (for now)

Cucumber season

Easter has passed and summer season is comming ! But for InWorldz it is 'cucumber time' or 'gooseberry season', meaning a low season for business (mainly in august) when the sales drop down. The Advertising and Group messages are still alive and the people behind them don't give up to get customers. But Economy is going down. They blame the tax payment coming up in the USA or the high oil prices... or the season, we all spent more RL time outside rather then sitting next to the stove to visit a Virtual World looking for some tropical Island or visit fantastic malls to spent our I'z :-)

Anyway,I try to make the best out of this season...selling or not, I never will have a cucumber time for myself, always full of ideas and time to short to make them come true. Not so much for business purpose or money gain, just for fun.
As I read, some shop owners decided to stop business or even leave Inworldz because the selling amount does not cover the rent !
MyMymy...I never would even think to do that , I should have closed a lot of shops in the past and left different Virtual Worlds.

Gain gain gain is also playing a big role in VW just like in the RW. Anyhow I hope good times are coming back and for the time being it may be just a passing periode, because if you sell, even if it is not BIG SALE it gives you the courrage and stimulans to do more. If you sell nothing it is like a dead fish or something like that...:-) So I go with the flow and see how far the wind will take me :-)but giving up ? no I will maintain, sustain and stand out this cucumber season:-)

Why I'm so happy with virtual worlds ?

Why I'm so happy with virtual worlds ?
Oh I could give you a lot of reasons...and they are different for everyone :-) for me, not so usual like for most people, I don't like shopping, chatting, dancing, sex etc... this is not my cup of tea... but we do have a saying in Flemish and translated it would be like this : 'Each bird sings as he was mouthed'.
The 'was' is how you are born I suppose with your heritage, DNA and later your developments in live. Mine have been artistic on several platforms. In RL live it is the way you percieve things and that makes the difference between to 'see' and to' look' :-)

In virtual worlds you can have great fun to manipulate the image and how you see things on your screen by using your camera cursors... and then.... yes.... you see things out of the blue full of imagination and unexpected perspective ! That's why I like virtual worlds so much and I like also to play in it and making things...

I'm Calimero too :-)))

A 'Calimero complex' is used to denote someone who thinks the world is against him or her because they are an underdog. In the Dutch series Calimero says :
They are big and I is small and that is not fair, oh no! (erroneous use of the word "is" is intentional)

I do not have a complex but do not feel/think like the average people either so in a way I'm an outlaw just like Calimero ? ..
So for me this is how I play and use virtual worlds...to create, to see, to wonder, to be surprised, to enjoy and much more !

Yes, indeed I mixed up my dates again in previous post... ai, it is today 31st for the opening of the Birthday Celebration of InWorldz ! No not tomorrow first of April , but is indeed the date InWoldz was born 2 years ago. By now the community has grown over 34.000 members.



If you like sweets, you just take a copy, buying it for O I'z. A sweet Birthday Cupcake with an animation for you and your partner, let the chocolate surround you and eat as much as you can. Don't mind your kilo's just enjoy :-)


I also did some things, other builders made, a rollercoaster type of attraction, like on a fancy fair, there is a lot to do and not only looking at some builds ! Wait till physics are coming soon...then you'll need a vomiting bag :-))

Milky Way - Journey through our Galaxy

You must know by now , I do love Space, the Univers and Galaxies :-)
Its a wonderful world beyond our comprehension ! The dreaming floating particles we see, gives us a dreamy feeling, maybe that aspect is what draws me to the Univers ? Yes I do write it with a capital because it is so vast , immeasurable with wonderful colors, light that travels for ages in our time laps and has powers for us humans not to equal. For my admiration for 'space beyond the eye' I was tempted to make my own Univers in a Virtual World where it can be done on a smaller scale of course !

I made my little Sphere or Galaxy for the Birthday Celebration coming up after tomorrow on the 1st of April and this is no April fool :-) ! A real challenge how to succeed in this on a small scale... well it was fun ... so I hope if you go visit the Celebration SIMS to step on the teleport to go to my 'Orbit' and have fun, but put your feet firmly on the ground or you can have dizziness :-)) yes, the Univers is in a perpetual motion...

Last day for the Groupgift of March

Time goes fast , it is already the last day for the groupgift of March ! Yes it will been taken down late this night (or for me sunday morning) Sometimes it is a little thinking what I write and what time when a action is taken, because of my time laps of 9 hours comparing to InWorldz, that means almost a full day (but this weekend we get Summer Time) But I think 14 days to get a free dress is time enough ...
I occasionally receive a personal compliment about a free groupdress, but only on my blog never IW, but thats ok:-) I know from my SL period when I took a lot of member dresses and friebies, me too never said thank you or wrote a note to the maker to say how pleased I was ! But the M!RAMODE group is increasing and that means a lot of people like to join to take the free dress.
So I do not have a problem with not receiving compliments ! I only want people to enjoy and to be beautiful in a virtual world, without thinking of money, so be happy with it !

I said before , I'm not money minded but love to create without spamming people with my stuff to buy. I do get more group notices from all over, sometimes 3x the same one, this increased a lot lately. see my older post .For that reason I unchecked to receive email from InWorldz announcements. On a busy day it can be over 60 emails !! I know all good things come in 3 but for this one I'll pass... :-) I can see and read it in my messages/account also x3 and that is fine for me to stay updated !

I'm working out a new idea for a new brand for my prim work, in that way I can keep it seperate from clothing, but I hear you say , oh no !!! another one to get messages from !!!:-) but I will keep it within limits, like I always do ,lol. You 'll be posted later on that one .

Construction for the Birthday Celebration

Pffff, have finished the build for my plot at the Birthday Celebration SIMS.
I 'm not a good builder or knowing my keyboard very well and how to make it easier. I do have a short memory and always go back to the simple non professional way of building. The end result is the same, ( I hope) but it cost me more time and patience to finish all this. That's why I am a tortoise :-) but as long as it is fun, who cares, no one sees the hard labour and long hours put into it !

I was building on my platform in the sky and learned a lot again, like rotating prims behaving differently when linked ! Used also an elevator to go up the construction, not easy to match to the platforms when the elevator stops, the script says you can adjust , but it does only in steps of 10 meters, not for higher or for bigger builds, as we can with the Inworldz viewer:-) Tried to set it higher but no result, or maybe I missed something ?. It was a challenge to work around this and make it at the exact stop for the elevator. But for those who are afraid of them I will set some teleporters so escaping is always possible !
Anyway, this is builders talk and scripters knowledge and I'm very bad at it :-), but happy I could be creative and make my imagination come true in the virtual world,
and that's what counts :-)

Inworldz® Winners of the Photo Contest

The 5 winners of each categorie are known, we just wait for the finalist and end winner out of 5 categories. But to my surprise it was Teal Freenote who got 3x first place! I don't have anything against Teal and her fabulous work as an artist, but I would have prefered to have seen more different styles of photo's made to the finish!
I loved her 'love and relation' picture very much, and if we could have voted for each category instead of voting only for 1 picture, I would have chosen hers.

But like with every baby it has to grow and needs education, so I think changing the rules for voting and finding a way to stay anonymous would be great. Also a limit for pictures and some other things...
I loved to participate and I love to express myself with images:-) so hope there will be another initiative in the futur even if it's not only for the founders but for people who love art and taking photo's, not for the money, just for fun and to have a purpose !

InWorldz Birthday Celebration

The InWorld Birthday Celebration looks like it will get slowly on his feet :-) The lucky one's who got a parcel can start building tomorrow. I'm before my plot and contemplating, as I have to make a choice what to build and display :-)
The building people made a great layout for the SIMS , still have to go and visit the other places soon:-) can't wait to see all the set ups from our friends made InWorldz !
